Job profiles

The Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA)  staff primarily relies on temporary and contract agents recruited through open selection procedures. AMLA does not employ permanent officials.

Temporary Agents

Temporary Agents are crucial in policy making, administration, and management, classified into three function groups as specified in Annex 1A of the EU staff regulations:

  • Administrator Function Group (AD)
  • Senior Assistant/Assistant Function Group (AST)
  • Secretary/clerk (AST/SC).

Contract Agents

Contract Agents play an essential role in the organization's functioning, providing expertise in corporate, administrative and support services. They are divided into four function groups, depending on the nature of the duties performed:

  • Function Group IV: Administrative, advisory, linguistic, and equivalent technical roles
  • Function Group III: Executive and technical expertise
  • Function Group II: Clerical and secretarial roles
  • Function Group I: Manual and administrative support.

Both Temporary Agent contracts and Contract Agent contracts are of a fixed-term duration (in principle 3 years), with the possibility of renewal (3 years). Any new extension would be for an indefinite duration.

Seconded National Experts (SNEs)

Employees of European public-sector bodies can temporarily work at AMLA through the national expert on secondment (SNE) program. During secondment SNEs remain at the service of their original employer, bringing their knowledge to AMLA and taking relevant experience back to their home administration.
